Bobbin Lace Balls

The balls at the top of this page are all made of bobbin lace. They are just lace and have nothing inside to keep them in shape. They are made of cotton or linen or synthetic thread, of wire or fishing line. They are multicoloured or unicolour, large or small, coarse or fine. Follow the links at the bottom of this page to see photographs. For bobbin lacemakers who would like to make a lace ball, there is a book about it with lots of lace prickings: Geklöppelte Kugeln - Bobbin Lace Balls ... and there is also a page of illustrated instructions here.

And there are pages for those of you who have not yet tried lacemaking and would like to know more about bobbin lace.
