These lace eggcups are worked on styrofoam eggs which have
been cut in two. The lace pricking for the styrofoam egg is
also cut in two and pinned to the two halves of the egg (see
photos below). Then the two parts of the styrofoam egg are
pinned together with large pins so that the cut surfaces are
at the top and bottom.
I worked the eggcups in wire with the rearranged styrofoam egg
mounted on a photographer's tripod. That was because it is
easiest to work an eggcup if the bobbins hang down all around
it. You can see how in the photos.
